EARLY CONTACTS WITH MIDDLE EAST AND FAR EAST This was a period when people of east Africa began to interact with people from Middle East and Far East in the  200 BC.   These contacts were mostly developed through commercial activities. The Mwanemutapa Kingdom Mwanemutapa Kingdom was established between the 14th and 16th centuries by the Karanga people of Mashonaland. The first leader of the kingdom was Mutota.
